Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) and Social Workers (SWs) are professionals trained to provide psychotherapy, which is the assessment and treatment of cognitive, emotional or behavioural disturbances by psychotherapeutic means. In Ontario, RPs are regulated health professionals registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Social workers are regulated health professionals registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
