Approaches to Psychotherapy:
I work from a collaborative, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. I believe in your resilience as a person and my role is to help you tap into those strengths and develop the skills needed to create meaningful change. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) but will also pull from other modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I’m down to earth and first and foremost, value the strength of the therapeutic relationship and your autonomy as a client.
Clinical Experience:
Most of my clinical experience has been in community work, on an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT), working with complex clients with severe and persistent mental health disorders. I have extensive experience navigating our mental health and social service systems and working with vulnerable and marginalized individuals. Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of engaging in multiple learning opportunities and trainings, such as CBT for psychosis (CBTp), the Feeling Safe Programme, and CFT. During my master’s practicum, I continued to work in the community setting with a variety of clients. Through this, I also gained experience in working with women who have or are experiencing domestic violence.
