Therapeutic Approaches, Clinical Experience, and Additional Information
I am a clinical and school psychologist who is authorized to provide services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in Ontario. Currently, I offer assessment services at Centrepointe Professional Services. During the academic year, I work at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). In this role, I provide assessment and intervention services to students in elementary and high school settings. I also provide consultation for school teams to support students' academics, behaviour, and social-emotional well-being. I completed my predoctoral residency at the OCDSB. I also completed my supervised practice at the OCDSB, as well as the Ottawa Couple and Family Institute. During my Ph.D., I completed practica at community mental health settings, private practices, the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and the school board. A primary focus of my clinical training and work experience has been supporting clients with autism spectrum disorder. This area was the focus of my practicum at CHEO and my rotation during my residency. I have pursued additional training focused on psychoeducational assessments (such as the Conducting Effective Psychoeducational Assessments program offered by the Regional Assessment and Resource Centre).
My approach to assessment is client-centered and strengths-based. I aim to provide assessment services that are meaningful for clients, their families, and their community partners (such as schools, post-secondary institutions, employers, service support organizations, and other medical professionals). As a psychologist who works across the lifespan, I use a developmental perspective when conducting assessments. In addition to providing understandable information about clients' profiles, I also create recommendations that are practical, evidence-based, and directly connected to client strengths and areas of need.
