I am a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) and implement direct speech and language therapy services for children, teenagers and their parents under the supervision of a registered Speech-Language Pathologist.
I have been honoured with Speech-Language & Audiology Canada's (SAC) Communication Health Assistant Award of Excellence (https://www.sac-oac.ca/membership/awards-and-recognition-program/angela-muis-ba-slp-a/) and I am privileged to serve on their Communication Health Assistant Advisory Group. I am a partial-load professor in the Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) Program at St. Lawrence College, where I teach Articulation & Phonology, Principles of Therapy & Programming Special Populations, and Child Language Acquisition & Related Disorders.
I have a special interest in Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). My contributions as a co-author of Caregivers' Experiences of Assessment and Treatment for Their Child with Childhood Apraxia of Speech have been published in the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology (AJSLP), and presented at the ASHA Convention, RCSLT Conference and SAC Conference. I have presented at Apraxia Kids National Conferences and supported this charity as a Volunteer Outreach Coordinator, Canadian Ambassador, and Founding Chair of the non-profit Apraxia Kids Canada.
