Approaches to Psychotherapy:
I work from a feminist lens using a client-centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) when supporting clients in session. My primary focus is on a client's needs and working together to explore, process and develop skills to create meaningful change. In my psychotherapy practice, I am committed to providing compassionate, culturally-sensitive, and trauma-informed care to all people in Ontario, including people of colour, immigrants, those with visible/invisible disabilities, those experiencing financial strain and LGBTQ+ individuals. I choose to work with clients at any point in their journey.
Clinical Experience:
I have worked in various community, hospital and educational settings as a nurse in Ottawa and the surrounding area since 2007. My professional background includes caring for individuals and their families by providing care, education, counselling and connection to community resources and supports. I come equipped with a wealth of knowledge in many areas of nursing care and use this knowledge base to create care plans unique to each individual client.
